Annapurna Sanctuary Tourism Committee (2017) located at Annapurna Rural Municpality-11, Ghandruk is an association of Local Tourism Business Operators established with an aim to enhance tourism through development of infrastructure of Annaurna Base Cap. Maurice Herjong and his team (French Mountaineers) 1950 A.D, first stepped Annapurna Ist (8091 m) were able to keep the world’s record for climbing mountain above 8,000m.
And the day (June 3) is celebrated as Annapurna Day from then. And to celebrate this day, committee has organized Annapurna Marathon from last year. For development and implementation of Sports tourism, master plan shall be developed and Local , Province and concerned authorities are committed.

First Annapurna Marathon
Marathon’s route has been set up starting from Annapurna Base Camp through Machhapuchhre Base Camp, Bagar, Deurali, Himlaya, Dovan, Bambo, Sinuwa, Bhanuwa, Chhomrong, Dhulu Danda, Chuiely, Tadapani, Bhaisekharka ending at Ghandruk. The distance covered by this route is 42.195 k.m. Sixty three runners were participated in 1st Annapurna Marathon. The time, distance and location covered by top ten winners are tabulated below. Winners will be awarded by Cash prize, Medal and Certificate.
